Everyone has to pitch their ideas to the lead designer and decide their direction from there. The work of Rudolf Arnheim is a cornerstone in the philosophy of the art and design traditions. I've been lucky enough to be able to plan and collaborate taching two classes for h2i, first year I did Visual Thinking with Mr. Designer Jason Santa Maria continues his excellent Under The Loupe series with a post about visual thinking. To be honest, I loved print design (invitations, signage, etc.) but logo design was intimidating. I started out as a photographer logo design was a foreign process of which I preferred to steer clear.
